keep seeing crypto casinos advrtise "provably fair" games especially for dice. can someone explain in simple terms how this actually works? is it actually verifiable or just marketing? and if it's real, do you need to be technical to veriofy results?

Each dice site has verification tool built in. Basics: you get client seed (you can change), server seed hash (site provides before roll), and nonce (roll number). After roll, you can verify calculation with server seed (revealed after) matched the result. Prevents retroactive manipulation.

its legit BUT only prevents site from changing result after you bet. doesnt prevent them from setting unfair house edge or manipulating in other ways

thanks everyone. seems like its actually fair for individual rolls but doesnt guarantee overall fairness of the game. still better than traditional online casinos i guess?

one caveat - you need to actually CHECK the results. 99% of players never verify anything. so yes provably fair but useful only if you take time to verify
